Day 1

Venice

20 Oct 2019 Departure 18:00

Home of poignant romance, Venice is the city of water par excellence, also known as La Serenissima.

The port of Venice and the city itself looks out towards the Adriatic Sea. The city of the Doges is situated in the middle of a lagoon, has more canals than roads and boasts incredible beauty and a unique charm derived from centuries of history. The best way to see the city and to discover and admire the palaces and churches, is to travel along the canals in a gondola. This will take you to Piazza San Marco, the site of the Doge’s Palace, a jewel of Venetian architecture. Alternatively, art lovers can explore the Pinault Foundation in the Palazzo Grassi, before continuing with the cruise in the Mediterranean.

Not to be missed:

• Basilica of San Marco

• Doge’s Palace

• Accademia Museum

Day 2

Bari

21 Oct 2019 Arrival 14:00 Departure 20:00

Bari is the Sun of Italy. In its beautiful old town are many churches, while the ladies prepare the famous orecchiette on tables in the street.

The port of Bari, on the Adriatic coast, is primarily a passenger port. During the stop in Bari, visit this historic city and its surroundings, especially Matera, designated by UNESCO as the 2019 European Capital of Culture. “Bari Vecchia” is the old part of the city that, with its partly Norman and partly Swabian fortress, the Romanesque Basilica of Saint Nicholas built on the ruins of the Byzantine Palace, the 12th century cathedral of San Sabino and a dozen little churches of the same period, still bears the traces of conquerors who succeeded over the centuries.

Not to be missed:

• The Basilica of Saint Nicholas of Bari

• Visit to the old town”Bari Vecchia”

• The Cathedral of San Sabino

Day 3

Corfu

22 Oct 2019 Arrival 09:00 Departure 14:00

Full of Mediterranean charm, Corfu perfectly expresses the classical concept of beauty tied to these places. Today it’s a popular tourist destination that has maintained high standards of quality and tranquillity.

The Port of Corfu, Neo Limani, is just a few minutes’ walk from the city centre, so easy to reach from the quayside. Entrance to the town lies at the foot of the New Fortress. At this point, stopping at Corfu lets you roam the narrow streets lined with tourist shops. Complete your tour of the island with total immersion in the lush greenery: olive trees, orange trees, cypresses as well as cultural events in the heart of the walled city are the norm!

Not to be missed:

• The magnificent Caves of Paleokastritsa

• The home of Sissi the Empress of Austria

• The Pebble Beach of Barbati

Day 4

Athens

23 Oct 2019 Arrival 13:00 Departure 20:00

The cradle of Greek culture, Athens welcomes us to its port of Piraeus, watching us from above the wonderful Acropolis.
Piraeus is the port of Athens, the largest in Europe, allowing you to visit the city, a place of dreams. A place of emigration, it has inspired numerous songs. Most ships will be making a stop in Athens before resuming the Mediterranean route or returning to the Atlantic. Take the time to visit the Acropolis and maybe the museum located at its base. Before flying out, enjoy the spectacle of a sunset at Capo Sunio. Try not to visit the city when it’s too hot in summer, much of the population moves out of town.

Not to be missed:

• The mythical Parthenon

• The Ancient Agora

• The Olympic Stadium

The port of Kotor lies at the base of a bay with the same name and is one of Europe’s most southerly Mediterranean fjords. This is a Venetian Harbour strategically located and fortified by strong walls. Here you can discover the fascinating landscape, the fortifications built from the early middle ages and now included among the UNESCO World Heritage sites, and the old town with Venetian influences and its religious architecture, where the Catholic Cathedral of Saint Tryphon coexists with the orthodox churches of the 12th and 13th centuries. Perast is worth a visit with its islands and Byzantine architecture.

Day 7

Dubrovnik

26 Oct 2019 Arrival 07:00 Departure 13:00

Facing the Adriatic Sea, the city is famous for its walls, built in stages from ancient times to the present, surrounding it, along with the port. Its splendid historical centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, exudes charm at every corner: the pearl of the Adriatic, as Lord Byron called it.

Dubrovnik is located in the south of Croatia, on the Dalmatian coast, and is protected from the bora and scirocco. This means that its climate is pleasant, even in the summer months. Its sea is among the cleanest and bluest in the world and, breathing deeply on the coast, you cannot help but feel the scent of pine trees, which surround the beaches and cool the hottest hours of the day. The beaches, amongst the most beautiful of the whole of Croatia, are uncrowded and perfect for romantic evenings by the sea.
